Our Philosophy
We care about our acquisitions and their presentation—indeed, each item in our collection was personally
selected. We appreciate beautiful furnishings that have stood the test of time as well as their
history. Though mood and timing may influence our purchasing decisions, ultimately, the
items you find at Baileywyck are items we would be proud to have in our homes.

Our History
Baileywyck Shoppes, our brick and mortar location (or, more accurately, barn) opened its doors in Middleburg, Virginia, in 2006. Situated in the heart of Virginia’s beautiful and historic Horse Country, we quickly became one of the area’s most surprising antique destinations. The owners, Lisa Vella and her brother, Jim Vella, travel widely around the States and abroad in search of treasures to enhance your home—sometimes their homes, too. On display in the 4,000-square-foot showroom/barn at Baileywyck Farm and eBay Store, you will find fine antiques, artwork, rugs and textiles, equestrian items, fine collectibles, and more. If you find yourself in the DC or Northern Virginia area, please visit!

What’s in a Name?

Lisa's Bailey
Baileywyck is named after Lisa’s much-loved Golden Retriever, Bailey T. Hound Dog.
Though no longer with us, his memory lives on in her two other Goldens, Emma Rose Rover and Donnie.
They are oftentimes found lolling in and around the store.

Lastly, Baileywyck is also a play on the word, “bailiwick,” meaning one’s area of interest or expertise.

Our Nonprofit

Individuals with cognitive, physical and/or emotional disabilities can benefit from therapeutic riding through safe and supervised interaction with equines. Golden Dreams Therapeutic Riding Center combines our love of horses with our belief in helping those in need.
Golden Dreams Therapeutic Riding | Middleburg, Virginia
Since its founding in 2007, Golden Dreams, has enriched the lives of many children and adults. Riding lessons are given by certified instructors assisted by up to three volunteers per rider. We currently provide services to ± twenty riders, utilizing five horses and with the help of 20+ dedicated volunteers. In addition to riding lessons, Golden Dreams offers Special Needs and Awareness Programs for regional schools and the community at large.

A portion of Baileywyck’s sales goes to support Golden Dreams. As a nonprofit 501 (C)(3) registered public charity, its operations are funded by private contributions. Please consider making a donation.
